Madi: Is this holiday some sort of cruel joke? I'm being held by a masked midget spider man who also happens to be sitting next to a red elmo thing.

Almost Finished
Here is a picture of the kitchen before appliances, back splash, and a pantry door.
Picture of the living room from the entry. Fire place still needs mantle and seat.
With less than a week to go we are finally getting passed the feeling of being stressed and are starting to get excited. We have a lot of things that have to be done to the house by Friday. We are pushing it but I think it can be done.

Day (126) on New House
It's been a while since I did any updates on the house. In the last few weeks we have got windows, finished shingeling, finished the rough in of plumbing and heating/a.c and just today they started to put rock on the garage part of the house. The insulation is complete so the sheet rocker plans to start on Monday.

KENNECOT COPPER BINGHAM MINE
We took a trip with my parents to go see the Kennecot Copper mine just South of Salt Lake City. If you have never gone, i'd highly recomend going. It is the largest man made excavation in the world. It is 3/4's of a mile deep and over 3 miles wide. The mine is in operation 24 hours a day 365 days a year. The trucks hauling the material drive a combined 10000 miles everyday. As you can see in the pic of Easton standing next to one of the truck tires, they arent small. Just the tires alone stand 2 stories.

100 year storm???
Yesterday we got pounded by a rain storm. The only time I have ever seen rain like this was during monsoon season in Tucson, AZ. The field next to our new house turned into a lake. When the lake got full the water found it's way into our basement. We were finally able to get the water stopped. We have a great contractor that was willing to stay along with our shingler who actually showed up on his own and brought with him his own pump. We had two pumps running until around 8:00 last night. All together we had 7 guys helping out. It was really nice to have this kind of help without even asking. We really appreciate everybody that helped out.

SOLD!
Saturday, July 18, 2009
So... Funny story. In the last week Easton has learned to ride his bike. He still has a little troulbe keeping a straight line but he is doing great. We decided this afternoon to video tape Easton. We didnt realize until we got in the house that the camera was set to slow motion. A 2 minute video turned into 14 minutes. You will have to fast forward through the video to see Easton take off on his own. Towards the end Easton jumps off his bike and starts running towards the camera. It's hilarious. To top it off he falls right as he makes it to the camera. We hope you enjoy the video as much as us.

Day (89) on New House
They finished sheeting the West side of the house today. I am hoping that they are completely finished sheeting the roof by the end of the week. Easton and our dog Nebo have the greatest times hanging out at the house. They have dirt, hills, dirt and more dirt which is Eastons favorite. Nebo just chases Easton around waiting for him to throw things so that she can go get them. You can see in the picture that Nebo is waiting patiently for Easton to throw that piece of wood.

Day (84) on New House
They started sheeting the roof on the back of the house today. We also heard from the bank today about getting the money for the house. We hope to close on the construction loan some time next week. We have been waiting for the bank to approve Ron as an approved contractor before they would give us any money. Luckily enough we have been able to pay Ron as the house was being built. Coincidentaly we gave Ron the last of our money today. I don't think we could have timed things any better.
